Title: Structural Design with Ultra-High-Performance Concrete and the Contribution of University of Houston's Universal Panel Tester

Summary: Over the past ten years, the implementation of fiber-reinforced Ultra-High-Performance Concretes (UHPC) in civil infrastructure has gained significant momentum for improving longevity and for making structures lighter and thinner. This talk will discuss the key mechanical features of UHPC, the evolving arena of UHPC mix design and casting methods, and the nuances in structural design. The talk will conclude with an overview of a research campaign from the University of Houston, which led to a shear design model that has recently been adopted by ACI 239-C.
